Little Bags with Big Bang

I love tiny colorful sparkly little clutches for evenings. From top to bottom: Target, Neiman Marcus (Marc Jacobs for Neiman/Target), BCBG, and Gap. The purple one on top is perfect for holding an iphone, some credit cards, cash, a key and lipstick.... and that's pretty much it. I love the two little zippered pouches and the wristlet strap.

I love the Marc Jacobs clutch because it is Rose Gold colored, which is super popular right now. It matches a watch and cute rose gold earrings that I have - so this is a favorite! The one drawback of the Marc Jacobs is that it is not large enough to fold in half and doesn't have any additional pockets inside, so whatcha' see is whatcha' get with that one.

I have used this sparkly BCBG clutch more times than I can count. It is really the perfect size and shape, has a small pocket inside for money and cards, and it zips so that if it slips out of my hand it doesn't spill it's contents along with it.

The large gray and pink clutch is pretty big, but it can fold in half if you prefer to carry it that way. I just love it because it is color blocked and bold and I think a very cute find at Gap for a really reasonable price.

Nailed It

I am definitely one of those girls that is obsessed with nail polish. I consider it just as much of an accessory as shoes, jewelry, and handbags. Each season I look out for the new Essie colors. It would definitely be fair to say that I am Essie loyal, but I try not to have blinders on. If I see another color that I love, I will stray. Now, these colors are not new.... but, I am trying to use them up so that I can reward myself with a few new Spring 2013 beauties.

Essie Bermuda Shorts and Sand Tropez. These are favs! I actually wear the Bermuda Shorts on my fingers and the Sand Tropez on my toes. I think they are such pretty colors. Bermuda shorts is pretty bright on so I only wear it when my nails are fairly short. Sand Tropez is one of those universal colors -- I think it can look professional when it needs to be, but it also has a gray tint to it that feels fresh and trendy.

Color Club - "Put a Pin in It' and Essie - 'BBF Best Boyfriend'. These are very chic and I think the Put a Pin in It is especially on trend right now. I wear the Color Club on my fingers and the Essie on my toes. The Essie BBF is pretty sheer, so I use three coats.

Essie - 'Set in Stones' - This is definitely a weekend one ladies. I use Set in Stones as a ring finger only accent and it goes on Friday afternoons and comes off Sunday evenings. Now, if you are in your teens I don't think that rule applies. Anyone out of high school, I think should try to stick with the "glitter on weekends only" rule. I put Set in Stones over Essie - 'Material Girl'. If you don't know Material Girl,  you should! It's a gorgeous deep burgundy and very flattering on so many skin tones. I would wear Material Girl on my fingers and toes.

Neon! I think everyone should have at least one neon color in their nail arsenal. Since I wouldn't wear this color all that often I don't splurge on an Essie. Sinful Colors in 24/7 (number 920) is a very fun way to add color. I like that it is not sheer so you won't need a million coats to get the right effect. Also, I think this color might fall into the "weekends only" rule as well. I feel a little bit spunkier when I have this color on and have gotten tons of compliments on it. Also - nails short for this one and I wear on my fingers only and keep the toes very nude/sheer.

Dessert at Zuma, Miami

Please don't hate me. This is going to make you hungry! This is the amazingly delicious dessert platter from Zuma in Brickell (Miami). It will knock your socks off. (Ladies, actually you should probably not be wearing anything that requires socks to Zuma, but you get the point.) This was our pre-midnight snack on New Years 2013.  After an amazing Chef's selection meal, this dream was presented to the table.

We devoured the Zuma Special Chocolate with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Then we scarfed down the Green Tea and Banana cake which was served with coconut ice cream and toffee sauce.

My all time favorite cookie the French Macaron (pink discs on the left side) were included in our tray and it was over the moon about it! Was it the Champagne speaking? Maybe, but it was so yummy I couldn't stop.

Fresh fruits and berries were sprinkled in between the rich chocolates and cakes. These was also a delicious Coconut Yukidama with pineapple and passion fruit. Amazing. This dessert is an absolute MUST at Zuma! Mmmmmm...... Bon appetit

January 2013 Birchbox Review

I get giddy when I see that my Birchbox has arrived. When I see that my building has emailed me about a package, and I see that it is from Birchbox, I literally run downstairs to rip into it. Now, for being such a huge fan, I was a little bit disappointed this month. My box included the Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Cream SPF 15. I have not tried this yet, but at $75 for the full size, well let's just say it better be some amazing day cream. I will update you when I have finished the sample.

I also received the 100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream, which was considered the "extra" in my box. This was my favorite product in the box so far! It smells amazing! My scent was Green Apple and it literally smells like a delicious ripe green apple. I definitely plan on purchasing this full size, for $15.

Included in the box was Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy. It's nice, that's really all. It isn't amazing or all that unique to me. It's a fairly small sample - so not that exciting of an addition to the box.

The largest sample that I received was the Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo. I haven't used this yet, but I did smell it and there was nothing too special about that either. I actually didn't notice that it had any scent at all, hmph. Maybe this one will surprise me and be awesome after I use it. I like getting shampoo and hair products in my Birchbox because I am looking for "the one" when it comes to a shampoo/conditioner set.... so the search continues I suppose.

Lastly, I received theBalm Put a Lid On it Eyelid Primer. Now, I used this once and it definitely worked. But..... I am a die hard fan Stila Prime Pot (color: Taffy)... so to convince me away from my Prime Pot would be difficult. I will give this one a few chances though.

Miami Design District on a Saturday night

This past Saturday night a few of us went to Miami's Design District. And to my surprise.... wow! It looked so great. There were plenty of people walking the streets, lively energy, music coming from every corner, and gorgeous new shops and restaurants. We had dinner and drinks at South Street. Nestled on a main corner intersection this lively restaurant had delicious food and a very cool artsy atmosphere. Our service was subpar, but hey.... we were still in Miami. I had a Love Jones from their Cocktail menu and it was very light and refreshing. We nibbled on the Biscuit basket, Catfish, Short Ribs, and the Traditional Mac n Cheese all of which were delicious.

After dinner and a few drinks, adventure found us. We took a stroll around to see what new shops were there. We found lots of hip art galleries mingled in with a Louis Vuitton, Prada, Marni, and Cartier and gorgeous design shops as well. If you have not been to the Design District in a while it is definitely worth checking out.

The Friday Four

I am so in love with Spring this Friday! It's warm and breezy right now in Miami, and it really feels like Spring is in the air... even though it is still January.  My Spring energy has definitely fueled these Friday Four.

This dress is adorable from Bognar and Piccolini. I was looking for the perfect flower girls dress for our Hawaiian wedding, and this is just perfect! The details are so beautiful and girly. I love the satin bow and the little crochet style sweater to match. Perfection.

I recently decorated our new Hancock bookshelf from CB2. I decided that the white bookshelf would look amazing decorated in gold, white and pink accents. The gold pig is the perfect fit and it looks like he is doing a job well done holding up our books.

Essie Nail Polish in 'A Crewed Interest'. This polish is the perfect fit between being professional and still having fun with the color. I had interviews this week and thought that I could get away with this peachy color and still have a happy Spring vibe when the interviews were done.

Oh, this little house! We walk our neighborhood regularly and this little gem is for sale! I just think it is adorable. I'm sure that it needs a ton of work and renovation since it is an older house, but how great is it? It has a carport off to the right side that is not pictured, but how perfectly Florida is that!?
